Why We Are Willing to Recommend Books with Magic and Violence

We have yet to meet anyone that has been led into a life of witchcraft or violence by the type of fantasy books we recommend. There are fantasy books in print—mostly comics—with scantily clad women, whose heroes are cruel and lustful (such as Conan the Barbarian). We do not recommend such books. The books we recommend are along the lines of the The Wizard Of Oz (witchcraft) and The Adventures of Robin Hood (violence). We simply have never met anyone that we felt was corrupted by those types of books, nor have we seen those books harm anyone's faith despite years of recommending them.

While I've got you here, have you read George MacDonald's fantasy, Phantastes: A Faerie Romance? We unhesitatingly recommend any of George MacDonald's books. Especially try his Unspoken Sermons: Series I, II, III, found on the search page I just gave you.
